Raven G802

The most prominent character in Northwest Indian tales because it could take any form, though he usually was either in human or bird form.

Inukshuk G801

A stone marker or guide post used in the high arctic. These guide stone’s in the image of man, endure as symbols of leadership, the importance of friendship in native life and travels.

Serenade G804

The Jakeman family have been producing maple syrup on their family farm since 1876. With taste, quality and innovation, the tradition lives on. The buildings pictured are in use today and date back to the1850’s.

The Whale G812

The Northwest Indians drew their life from the sea. The Killer Whales’ crest was often carved or painted on the bow of their canoes to invoke its “spirit” to guide them in their hunts.

The Eagle G814

The eagle can always be recognized by his shorter hooked beak. It’s down feathers were used ceremonially and symbolized peace, power and prestige.

Salmon G815

It was believed that the salmon were warriors transformed when they were in the water. It is customary to always put the bones back in the water after eating a salmon, so the warriors can return home.
